Services

The Sandy Segal Youth Health Center (SSYHC) is located on the High School campus, adjacent to the Middle School and has been in existence for 31 years.

It is operated by the Venice Family Clinic providing low cost and free medical and mental health services for middle and high school students. The SSYHC is a safe place where teens can speak with someone about whatever is on their minds and get the care they need.

  • Venice Family Clinic accepts Medi-cal, Covered California and MyHealth LA. If a student does not have insurance, health services are available for low or no cost. For families who can pay, we suggest a minimum $25 donation for physicals offered on-site at SSYHC on designated days.
  • For medical services: (310) 392-8636
  • For mental health services: (310) 664-7788
  • While school remains largely remote, Sandy Segal Youth Health Center is currently not able to see students physically on site. We are offering mental health counseling services via telehealth (video or phone). Students may call the call center or mental health line to schedule a phone or video visit with a provider.
  • Medical services are currently on hold. If a student has medical needs, they may contact their primary care provider or Venice Family Clinic, if they do not have a regular primary care provider, for services.
  • For sports physicals: Designated days for sports physicals on-site at SSYHC may be scheduled periodically, depending on need. Stay in touch with the school nurse for information. During COVID while the health center on campus is closed we request that sports physicals be limited to those designated days that are scheduled on-site at school. If a student needs a sports physical outside of these designated days, they may contact their own primary care provider, or Venice Family Clinic if they are not connected to a primary care provider.
